Quality Control

By completing our new feed mill in August 2008 we succeeded in providing the very best in feed manufacturing in Nebraska. Quality is very important to everyone at CPM. These are some of the things we do to ensure high quality and traceability:

  • Sampling of all incoming ingredients
    • The samples are saved for 8 months.
    • Every 2 weeks incoming ingredients are tested for amino acids, crude protein, calcium, and phosphorus.
    • Quarterly a random sample of corn is drawn and tested for mycotoxins.
  • Antibiotic Reconciliation
    • All feed grade antibiotics, growth promotants and FDA regulated additives are weighed daily and accounted for.
    • Each antibiotic billed on your invoice will have a lot number accompanying it for traceability.
  •  Testing of corn micron size
    • CPM evaluates micron size once per day with a hand test, and then we follow with lab tests every 2 weeks to ensure a consistent grind.
  •  Computerized batching
    • All ingredients are added by computer controlled scales. The accuracy of these scales is superior, and they ensure that the formula you ordered is the formula you get.
  •  Complete feed sampling
    • Samples are pulled twice per year to determine the effectiveness and consistency of our mixer. This ensures that every bite your animal takes is well balanced with the correct nutrients.
    • To guarantee traceability of the product you purchase, CPM will keep your feed sample up to 8 months giving you the ability to trace and pin point any residues or problems that may have occurred in the ingredients or processes.
  • Records are kept daily to ensure that these quality control measures are being implemented properly.

Today's Meat Industry is especially sensitive to consumer perception and quality meat products. Our goal is to give our customers the transparency that they need, resulting in a safer food product for consumers.
